Rivers State: NDYC Aligns with PDP Governors, Slams Wike for Alleged Tyranny

The Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC) has once again declared its unwavering support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, commending his steadfast dedication to democracy and his courageous efforts to protect the interests of the people. The NDYC emphasized that Governor Fubara’s leadership is a critical defense against the recent attempts by former governor Nyesom Wike to undermine democratic principles in Rivers State.

Governor Fubara’s recent firm stance against Wike’s autocratic maneuvers has been praised by the NDYC as a vital move to preserve the integrity of the state’s political system. The organization accused Wike of trying to exert undue influence over the state, treating it as his personal property, and ignoring the democratic will of the people. The NDYC strongly condemned these actions, stating that they pose a serious threat to the foundations of democracy and must be vigorously opposed.

The NDYC also criticized Wike’s recent inflammatory remarks, in which he threatened to create political instability in states governed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The organization described these statements as reckless and harmful, arguing that they reveal Wike’s true intentions of pursuing personal power at the expense of national unity and peace. The NDYC urged Wike to abandon his divisive tactics and to respect the democratic processes that have been put in place to serve the people, rather than his own ambitions.

In its statement, the NDYC also expressed strong support for Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, for his steadfast defense of Governor Fubara. The organization praised Governor Mohammed’s resolute stand against Wike’s intimidation tactics, highlighting his commitment to upholding justice, democracy, and the rule of law. The NDYC encouraged both Governors to continue their efforts to safeguard the democratic institutions in Rivers State, assuring them of the backing of the Niger Delta and all Nigerians who value integrity and true leadership.

The NDYC further called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take swift action by advising Nyesom Wike, currently serving as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to refrain from making any more statements or engaging in actions that could incite unrest or disrupt the peace of the nation. The NDYC stressed the importance of maintaining decorum and respect for democratic principles among all public officials to ensure the stability and progress of the country.

In conclusion, the NDYC reiterated its full support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Governor Bala Mohammed, and the democratic values they embody. The organization called on all Nigerians to unite in defense of democracy and to reject any attempts to subvert the will of the people. The NDYC remains committed to advocating for good governance, the rule of law, and the protection of Nigeria’s democratic institutions, believing that these are the foundations for a prosperous and peaceful nation.
